Travel to Lerwick

TRAVEL BY AIR

Sumburgh Airport, the main arrival point for flights into Shetland from the Scottish mainland, sits at the southern tip of the islands, 25 miles/app 40 km from Lerwick. Flights from Scottish airports, with connections further afield, are operated frequently by Loganair. During the summer, some direct flights to and from Bergen in Norway are also available.

TRAVEL BY BOAT

You can take a ferry from Aberdeen to Lerwick. It has daily departures and takes between 12 -14 hours. It is a night ferry, cabins are available. Read more: Serco NorthLink Ferries .
