Copenhagen to Oslo will be the last voyage this summer. On this leg we will do a lot of sailing. If you are interested, there are still places left. You can also join from Warnemünde the night before. We will leave the Hanse Sail August 10, at 8 pm. Here is the map over Warnemünde: Warnemünde_kaiplass

Departure from Copenhagen is set to 3 pm, August 11^th. You have to be on board latest 2 hours before departure. The ship will be in Amalienhaven Port, pier no 163 in central Copenhagen, close to Amalienborg Castle.

What should I pack?

Summer weather in the north is unpredictable. The most important thing to remember when packing is clothes that are waterproof, windproof and good shoes. We enclose the packing and information- list.

News about cruise-in-company

First and foremost, it is important to note that the arrival in Bergen July 24 is changed to 1500. We hope this will not affect your travelling from Bergen. The change is because the three Norwegian sail ships will be the last to arrive in Bergen in a separate parade. We think this will be a great experience!

Stop along the way
During cruise-in-company we usually make two stops. We will decide the first stop along the way, either together with other ships, or we choose a nice place to drop anchor.

July 22, we will make an overnight stop in Skudeneshavn on the southern tip of Karmøy. Skudeneshavn is a charming city with a lot of tradition. In earlier centuries vessels from Skudeneshavn could be found on all oceans around the world. The story goes back to 1808, when herring fisheries where booming and what we now call Old Town grew. Around 130 houses and warehouses are preserved. We have organized a walking tour for our trainees while Christian Radich will make a fjord tour for the city on the evening of July 22.

We believe this will be an experience for our trainees!

Tall Ships Races 2014 starts in Harlingen, The Netherlands. Fredrikstad is the destination for the first race. Cruise in Company goes from Fredrikstad to Bergen and the last race goes to Esbjerg, Denmark. We have also found some exciting voyages before and after the Tall Ships Races. Welcome Home

After a somewhat delayed stay at the yard, Christian Radich is on the way to Oslo and the celebration of the Constitution Day! The ship arrives the night before May 17 and will shine like new at the quayside. The exterior is painted, but some of the works inside remain and will be done in Oslo.

Thanks to a tremendous effort from our crew, Christian Radich is ready to welcome and handle all guests and events in May. When June comes we look forward to the summer voyages and Tall Ships Races in home waters.

We had a cancellation on the race between Bergen and Esbjerg and the race is open for booking again! Be quick if you want to join this race!

The voyages this summer are very popular. On the first voyage, from Sandefjord, we will go straight into the Skagerrak, and find the best possible winds. On the last voyages from Copenhagen to Oslo, we plan a voyage with spacious time in order to sail a lot.

Christian Radich has arrived Las Palmas

Christian Radich is now at the cruise pier St. Catalina in Las Palmas after a wonderful adventure across the Atlantic. Here you can see the whole trip since we left Las Palmas Nov. 24. 2013. We have visited St. Lucia, Antigua, St. Martin, Bermuda, the Azores and back to the Canary Islands. On our way east, the wind stopped and we had to go for motor, on our way west we hit a storm. It has been quiet days and it’s been busy days. All in all, it has been a life changing experience for our trainees.

Regattas in the summer are soon sold out!
There are only a few places left on the race legs this summer. Cruise in Company between Fredrikstad and Bergen is booked over halfway, but it is still possible to join one of the other voyages. The voyages this summer are popular and if you want to join, you have to book early!

The Azores – Las Palmas

Christian Radich has left the Azores and the ship are sailing on the last leg towards Las Palmas. They have fair winds. We hope they will arrive on Sunday, so there will be time for a good farewell to the trainees and crew. The ship will dock at the cruise pier St. Catalina as she usually does.

The Atlantic Crossing

There has been a great interest for the Atlantic Crossings also this season. November 24. Christian Radich will set sails from Las Palmas for the voyage westwards with 68 trainees! Christian Radich sailed from Rostock Sunday. It is still possible to join her for the last leg from Odense to Oslo. She will leave Odense Aug. 15th at 12:00 and arrival in Oslo is Sunday 18th 10:00 am.

This autumn, the world`s most famous tall ship Christian Radich will sail across the Atlantic with dedicated and enthusiastic trainees, eager to experience something extraordinary. We did the voyages last year for the first time in eleven years and it was a huge success and a memory for life for the trainees. This upcoming journey will also be an unforgettable and safe experience for the trainees and crew. Starting from Las Palmas on November 24th, Christian Radich will follow the famous regatta ARC (Atlantic Rally for Cruisers), without participating in the race directly, but rather enjoying and taking in the ARC atmosphere. During this time of year, we can expect favourable weather conditions - easing the passage across the Atlantic. The destination is set for St. Lucia in the Caribbean islands December 14. The voyage eastwards will start in St. Martin January 2. The first destination, maybe after a short stop in Bermuda, is Horta on the Island of Faial, Azores. From here you can join the ship south to Las Palmas. Taking advantage of the best possible weather conditions, the course is set towards Bermuda to catch the western winds. The final destination is Las Palmas on February 3. If you can`t join all the way, you can leave the ship in Faial January 25. Christian Radich started her first Atlantic crossing in 11 years on November 25th. Around 70 trainees sailed on the ship from Las Palmas and they had fair winds towards warmer and warmer climate. Arriving in St. Lucia was as planned 15 of December. Some of the trainees went home and some stayed on board to experience sailing in the Caribbean. Meanwhile, new sailors came on board to join the voyage eastward. The departure was January 6th from St. Martin. First stop was the beautiful island of Bermuda. Next stop was the island of Faial. On the way, a storm was coming up, so Christian Radich turned southward and sailed around the storm. On the last leg from Faial to Pt. Delgada, the sea was turbulent, the trainees worked with sails and the ship in general. It's probably both good and sad to say farewell to the ship and fellow trainees. These trips have for certain been a life changing experience! Christian Radich left Bermuda on Wednesday January 16^th . On facebook we can read about how much the trainees enjoyed the beautiful island. The ship has set sail again and it will be many days at sea before arriving in the Azores, February 1th. Christian Radich has anchored at the Cruise Terminal in Philipsburg, St. Martin. The ship has been welcomed in all ports and on Saturday the Captain will invite the inhabitants of Philipsburg on board. There has unfortunately been a poor Internet connection for a while. But from Sunday Jan. 6th we can follow the ship again on her Atlantic voyage towards the Azores. Fair winds!

Trainees and crew on board Christian Radich are having some wonderful days in the Caribbean. This is probably a Christmas they never forget! 28. December, the ship leaves for St. Martin after being a few days near Antigua. Some have said goodbye for this time, and new trainees have arrived. The rest arrives in St. Martin from January 3. Then it is only a few days left until departure for the Azores!

Weekend voyage from Oslo in May

It is not often Christian Radich do voyages other than in the summer season. In Norway we have the bright spring- and summer nights and a weekend voyage from Oslo and southwards will be a lovely experience! The ship will leave from Akershuskaia in Oslo Thursday and return at the same pier on Sunday. We plan to go to Koster, the picturesque Swedish Island.

Program:
Thursday: Introduction, security and rigtraining.
Friday: Sailing.
Saturday: Arrival at Koster about 1200, time on your own. At 1800: Dinner on board.
Sunday: We go by motor back to Oslo, arriving approx. at 1700

In Koster, you can rent a bicycle and explore the island on your own. At night there will be a nice dinner on board (drinks not included). All meals included.
As usual, we depend on the winds and weather and changes to the program due to this, may occur. Otherwise the same conditions as the summer voyages.

There has been a great interest in Christian Radich`s Atlantic Crossing. Both legs are now sold out. We are looking forward to sail Christian Radich across the Atlantic!

Across the Atlantic

It is over ten years since the ship sailed across the Atlantic and many have asked us when it will be possible to do this again. Since we broke the news late in August, there has been a great interest in the Voyage and now it is sold out!

We will follow ARC (Atlantic Rally for cruisers) to St. Lucia with opportunities for many extra days in the Caribbean. This is spectacular! And for those of you who want a life changing experience, we recommend to join the voyage back from St. Martin 6th of January, arriving in the Azores (Ponta Delgada) February 1.

Now it is possible to book both voyages and fjordcruises directly on www.radich.no. A long project is close to its end, and it will be much easier for you as trainee to book directly online. We have not launched this with a great fanfare, but have chosen to do it quietly in order to deal with any problems that might occur in this early stage. New Christian Radich film

Have you seen the new film describing life on board Christian Radich? The film shows how it is to be a trainee and you can feel the joy of being together and being at sea on the beautiful sail ship. A big thank you to MøllerGruppen who has given us permission to use the film, it is from their anniversary voyages along the Norwegian coast in 2011, and to Svend Even Hærra who made the film. Award to Christian Radich

The Sultan Qaboos Sailing Trophy, presented to an individual, vessel operator or sail training organisation for ‘outstanding services to sail training for young people’ was won by the Christian Radich Foundation and presented at The International Sail Training and Tall Ships Conference for the first time.

His Majesty Sultan Qaboos of Oman has donated this prestigious trophy as part of an on-going collaboration with Sail Training International which will see €50,000 donated every year to assist young people from around the world to benefit from the life-changing experience gained from participation in Sail Training International’s races and regattas.

The Sail Training International Annual Awards were presented during the final plenary session of the conference which took place in Toulon, France.

Join the winter voyage

Join Christian Radich for a wonderful week sailing in the Canaries. We will depart from sunny Las Palmas January 29th 2012 and sail for a week around the Canary Islands.

We have sailed here before and know the waters well. You are welcome to join us for a unique sailing experience. We are planning an overnight stay somewhere half way, where and when depends on the wind and weather.

The last day in Las Palmas, Sunday Feb. 5th we will have a celebration. On this day it is exactly 75 years since the ship was launched by Framnæs Yard in Sandefjord.

The voyage is suitable for our friends who have sailed with us before and also for those of you who have dreamed to be crew on a full-rigged ship!

You are welcome to stay on the ship the day before departure and two days after, to Monday 6th .

The voyage includes six nights on board with full board, the day before and Sunday – Monday only breakfast is included. We will celebrate the 75th anniversary of the launching Sunday afternoon.

It is also possible to stay two extra nights on board, until Wednesday Feb 8th.

Check-in on board min. two hours before departure.
Changes in arrival- and departure times may occur.

Travel to and from Las Palmas is not included.
